So lets get started!

Ok,
So while lying in bed trying to sleep last night I was having a good think about how I am going to construct the army. I want a force that will be fluffy but hopefully won't get crushed every time they hit the table, with that in mind I came up with a few self-imposed restrictions on what I am allowed to take. They are:
  1. No Vehicles bigger than a Hornet, this is supposed to be a quick strike force attacking through the webway so no Falcons/Wave Serpents etc.
  2. No Wraithknights, although there is fluff backing up the use of Wraith constructs the Wraithknight is just too big.
  3. No non Eldar/Dark Eldar allies.
  4. Up to one unit of Wraithguard for each Wraithlord taken.
  5. Only allowed Aspect Warriors that fit the fluff (Dark Reapers, Warp Spiders, Shadow Spectres)
  6. No Avatar
  7. All models must be painted with the Correct colour scheme
The last point is more for my motivation more than anything, all too often I cheat and end up using units that aren't painted or are painted in an old colour scheme. There is something just much more impressive about a whole coherent painted army. Just looks that much better.
If you can think of any others then don't be afraid to suggest them.
Cheers.

A new direction........

Good evening!
Well this hasn't been updated in a fair while! Due to a change in job and lots of outside influences my time for the hobby has been pretty low. Hopefully in the new year this should change!
In March my local club is going to be starting up a new 40k league and so far we have quite a few people sign up for it!
I had originally wanted to use my inquisition army but one of the rules of the league is that no more than 750pts can be spent on Allies which would make it difficult without quite a lot of work.
With this in mind I have decided to go back to my Eldar but this time to a previous love.......The Harlequins! I used my usual Eldar army in the previous tournament but invoked some Ire as my twin wave serpent and Wraithknight set up wasn't very popular!
This time around however I am looking to put out a fluffy army with the intention of having fun rather than any thoughts of being competitive.
There has been the odd rumours going around about the possibility of a harlequin mini dex but for the moment I've just got the craftworld eldar and dark eldar books available to use, I have a few ideas down on paper and have picked up the first few models, hopefully over the coming weeks I can get a few painting posts up on here!

Say hello to my little friend!

Well I've not had an update in a little while now but this is what I have been working on!
He's almost finished, just a few small details to be done on the base but overall I am really happy with it. Lovely model to put together and to paint and although he hasn't done that much on the battlefield for me yet one I look forward to using a bit more!

The next 250!

Well I have the first 500 pts now complete so may as well start on the next 250!
The actual unit will only be 8 scorpions with Exarch and Wave Serpent but since I am doing them I may as well do the full unit with both Exarchs and Pheonix Lord all together.
Now I need to find a way of stripping the paint without making a complete mess like the last incident wih the dettol which ended up with paint all over the place.
 Wish me luck!

First 500pts.......................Complete!

Well it's been a while but the first 500 pts is finally complete!
It consists of:
Illic Nightspear
8 Rangers
3 Jetbikes- Shuriken Cannon
10 Dire Avengers- Exarch, Power Weapon & Shimmershield

Not entirely sure how effective it'll be on the table top but it's the start of what I am planning as a 'Tournament' list.

Something unrelated....

Ok so it's not part of my 500pt list but inbetween painting parts of the Jetbikes and watching the latest episode of Dexter I painted up this little guy!
I've been reading a few of the Black Library Eldar books recently, particularly the Path of the Seer and Path of the Outcast and they mention White Seers.
White Seers are powerful Farseer's who are basically a bridge between the Craftworlds and the Black Library and are charged with collecting knowledge of Chaos.
I loved the idea of this and decided to paint up an old Farseer model to represent one.

First Unit!

Ok, so it's taken a while. A slow painter with a lack of free time doesn't make for a quick army build!
The first unit is done though, naturally it had to be a Ranger unit!

Also, Games workshop have finally delivered what I ordered.
One Illic Nightspear!
Very much looking forward to painting up this model. For finecast it is very well moulded. Only had to make one small correction, filling up a hole in the shoulder pad where a bubble had been.
